Awarded: Best "Initiatives for Financial Education" in Austria and Eastern Europe

Raiffeisen Certificates scores with its overall package of measures for knowledge transfer

  • Structured Retail Products presents the award in London
  • Austrians with potential to catch up in financial literacy

The Raiffeisen Certificates team received the SRP Award 2024 from Structured Retail Products (SRP). Every year, the internationally renowned financial portal for structured products honors the best in the industry. This year, Raiffeisen Bank International's certificates issuer took first place in Europe in the "Initiatives for Financial Education" category. Philipp Arnold, Head of Certificates Sales and Marketing, accepted the award at a festive ceremony.

„This award is an impressive confirmation of our achievements in financial education. We reach all stakeholders with our measures: both, the advisors in the Austrian Raiffeisen sector, as well as our network banks in the Eastern European core markets and, subsequently, the many interested people who want to increase their knowledge of securities investments”,

says Philipp Arnold, Head of Certificates Sales & Marketing.

Comprehensive Range for Professionals and Beginners

Specific initiatives such as the monthly live webinars for advisors and around 200 annual training sessions for sales partners were among the factors that convinced the jury. Raiffeisen Certificates also impressed with its range of information for all interested private investors. The knowledge section raiffeisencertificates.com/wissen offers easy-to-understand explanations and videos on the topic of certificates. In addition, the Certificate Finder integrated into the website takes investors just three clicks to find an exciting selection of products, including background information. We are also keen to engage in direct exchange at trade fairs and conferences in Austria and abroad - soon in person at the Börsentag Wien at the Austria Center Vienna on April 6.

Financial Literacy: Austria's Need to Catch Up

The importance of financial education in Austria is shown by the results of a recent marketmind study commissioned by the Austrian Bankers Association and the Boston Consulting Group. Around half of Austrians are well informed when it comes to savings products, while 83% of respondents have some catching up to do when it comes to securities. 42% of respondents cite risk as a reason for not investing in the capital markets.

„These survey results prove how important our financial education initiatives are. Because only those who feel well informed are prepared to invest in securities. Many people avoid the stock markets because they are worried about possible losses. This is precisely where capital protection certificates, for example, come in. They make it possible to profit from the performance of the capital markets - with the capital invested being protected at the maturity date”,

explains Heike Arbter, Head of Division Certificates, Retail Bonds & Equity Trading.
