Austria and CEE's leading bank RCB is taking an important step with regards to the Turkish equity market and structured products. RCB, a 100% subsidiary of RBI, which designs custom-made products for retail customers currently issues up to 4500 products and sells these products in 12 countries. The next stop is Turkey. According to Head of Sales, Guyuldar, RCB is currently setting up the ground work in order to distribute their products and is currently in touch with Borsa Istanbul, the Capital Markets Board and financial institutions.

Guyuldar says RCB will officially be requesting an approval from Turkish Capital Markets Board in order to distribute their products in Turkey. RCB's products are currently listed in 7 countries and shall also be listed at Borsa Istanbul.

According to Guyuldar the bank currently has a good dialogue with Borsa Istanbul. "Our primary interest will be to list our products at Borsa Istanbul and not only looking to sell them as a private placement. We believe this will also broaden the products diversification at Borsa Istanbul." Guyuldar says this will also help Borsa Istanbul with its goal to become a regional hub.

RCB does not only have strong presence in the equity markets of CEE and Russia but also successfully markets structured products in these countries. Guyuldar explains: "We acknowledge that Turkish retail investors do have a lack of products being offered to them and we believe that the variety of our products will help domestic clients to diversify their portfolios. We primarily focus on capital guarantee products and bonus certificates where we believe that clients can limit risks with.

They are already active in Turkish Equities

Guyuldar says: "We have been active in Turkish shares. We have never had a direct involvement in Turkish equity market up to now but with our partnership with Global Securities we have added Turkey to our regional coverage. Having added Turkey, RCB is now the only local broker covering the entire region.

Turks are in the conference first time

RCB has been organizing Zurs conference over the past 13 years and 13th one was taking place between April 11-13 this year. This year marked the first debut of leading Turkish companies participation.
